This course will address the fundamental question:  What is the role of digital technologies and information systems in creating and sustaining a competitive advantage for organizations in today’s complex business environment?

The course is taught from a strategic perspective and employs an experiential learning approach. Case studies and real-life examples will expose participants to the various opportunities and challenges involved in managing information systems in different industries and contexts.



By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basic concepts, terminology, and principles of digital information systems and recognize their importance to the success of any organization
  • Understand the potential capabilities, use, and transformative effect of different types of digital information systems within an organization
  • Acquire a working knowledge of business intelligence, big data and data analytics
