Alain has over twenty years of experience advising executives on strategic & pricing issues. He began his consulting career at Larson & Company, a Montreal-based strategic consulting boutique that was an offshoot of McKinsey & Co., later acquired by Mercer Consulting. He has developed strategies for high technology companies, manufacturing, transportation, pharmaceuticals, medical products, internet, telecommunications, logistics, non-profit organizations, retail, consumer goods, and financial services industries.
A key element in Alain’s consulting practice has been the combination of analytical approaches such as descriptive, predictive, prescriptive, and decision analysis and game theory to develop and implement a range of strategies. His strength lies in building strategies based on highly quantitative analyses and linking those analyses to establish optimized pricing and marketing strategies to achieve corporate goals. His work has also focused on ensuring the successful implementation of pricing and marketing initiatives through close collaboration with client teams, change management, and leading the development of numerous pricing tools applied at all organizational levels ranging from the C-level to the field-level sales team when negotiating sales.
Before becoming a consultant, Alain was head of strategy and corporate finance at Denison Mines and Noranda Forest. He was also the Executive Assistant to The President and CEO of Denison Mines and to the Associate Deputy Minister of Industry for the federal government. In these positions, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of these organizations as well as providing strategic advice to these leaders.
Alain has delivered workshops across the world including in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Johannesburg, and Paris as well as in numerous cities across North America. Alain holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in theoretical physics and nuclear engineering as well as an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
