Alain Meloche

Alain has over twenty years of experience advising executives on strategic & pricing issues. He began his consulting career at Larson & Company, a Montreal-based strategic consulting boutique that was an offshoot of McKinsey & Co., later acquired by Mercer Consulting. He has developed strategies for high technology companies, manufacturing, transportation, pharmaceuticals, medical products, internet, telecommunications, logistics, non-profit organizations, retail, consumer goods, and financial services industries.

A key element in Alain’s consulting practice has been the combination of analytical approaches such as descriptive, predictive, prescriptive, and decision analysis and game theory to develop and implement a range of strategies. His strength lies in building strategies based on highly quantitative analyses and linking those analyses to establish optimized pricing and marketing strategies to achieve corporate goals. His work has also focused on ensuring the successful implementation of pricing and marketing initiatives through close collaboration with client teams, change management, and leading the development of numerous pricing tools applied at all organizational levels ranging from the C-level to the field-level sales team when negotiating sales.

Before becoming a consultant, Alain was head of strategy and corporate finance at Denison Mines and Noranda Forest. He was also the Executive Assistant to The President and CEO of Denison Mines and to the Associate Deputy Minister of Industry for the federal government. In these positions, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of these organizations as well as providing strategic advice to these leaders.

Alain has delivered workshops across the world including in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Johannesburg, and Paris as well as in numerous cities across North America. Alain holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in theoretical physics and nuclear engineering as well as an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Vern Lennon

A seasoned pricing professional and business consultant, he has strategic and scientific pricing experience in laboratory consumables and equipment, MRO, capital equipment, building products, distribution, transportation, services, chemicals, diagnostics, cryogenics, plumbing, HVAC, advertising, software, fibreglass, home and interior design, private equity and more. His experience at understanding and extracting true market value has been further utilized as a guest speaker at many conferences and professional societies, along with guest lecturing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Lennon holds an MBA in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University and a B.S. in Resource Economics from the University of New Hampshire.

Over the last two decades, he has been driving the discipline of Strategic & Scientific Pricing across multiple organizations.  In his first 15 years he developed “greenfield” Decision Science and Pricing departments at a multitude of organizations, fulfilling his vision of transformation from within for sustainable use. More recently he has been using his background, experiences, and understanding of organizational behaviour as CEO of Pricing Cloud, to help clients understand their relative “Pricing” competency and build 1-3-5 year plans toward pricing excellence. These plans providing internal pathways, coupled with external assistance from Price Strategy to Price Execution.  In the past nearly 20 years Vernon has provided guidance on over $100 billion worth of products, resulting in roughly $3 billion in pricing and revenue benefit through his value-based pricing methodologies. His customized approach to all engagements has helped his customers to not only realize financial gain, but also to drive pricing to become a competitive advantage through the entire enterprise profit model.
